Writer Director Duo
Kate Roxburgh and Shay Kuehlmann are award winning filmmakers who have been working together as a writer director duo for many years in theatre, comedy and film. Under their production company DogSky Films they also have a slate of projects they have overseen and produced.
Kate and Shay started out as a sketch comedy duo before moving into writing and directing film in early 2013. They produced, wrote and directed comedy shows together for the Edinburgh Comedy Festival and were finalists in several leading comedy competitions including Hackney’s New Act and Fosters So You Think That’s Funny
After transitioning to film Kate and Shay have written and directed several award winning short films together ‘A Dog Called Moose' (Winner Best Short SA.FI.TER film festival Nominated Best Actor Ouchy Film Awards and Best Music Redline Film Festival ) 'The Bridge' (FINALIST - BRUKIVKA Film Festival Semi Finalist - Los Angeles Cinefest) and 'Kantsaywhere' (Official Selection at the Oscar and BAFTA qualifying festival Rhodes Island Film Festival
Kate and Shay are currently developing a new TV show called 'Dogging for Beginners'
As well as being great friends Kate and Shay bring very different backgrounds and unique perspectives to each project they build together. Their goal as co-writers and directors is to support and challenge each other and get the very best out of the films and projects they are working on. They are passionate about collaboration and with extensive preparation, their working style on set is completely fluid and cohesive.
